A CARVED OAK CHEST, YORKSHIRE, LATE 17TH CENTURY
with a moulded twin plank lid above a profusely carved triple panel front, each panel with lozenge detail and flanked by figural uprights below a frieze carved with grotesque serpent-like creatures, with two scroll carved drawers below and trailing berried foliate stile feet, initialled M C -- 47in. (120cm.) wide, 31in. (79cm.) high, 21in. (54cm.) deep
