carved with gentlemen and scholars in a fenced garden of pine and rockwork, variously examining scrolls, listening to music and in conversation, within borders of scrolling flowers and foliage -- 18¼in. (46.5cms) high, (chip to finial, restoration to cover, old wear), lacquer Xuande six character mark to base.
