A silver and gold inlaid bronze vase
17th century
of globular form with tapering foot, short neck, everted rim and three loop handles to the shoulder, the upper section inlaid in gold and silver with stylised animals and archaic motifs above medallions containing three stylised mythical beasts, the base inlaid in silver with three characters reading yan shiwan, the surface with a darkish olive coloured patination -- 8½in. (21.5cms) high, wood stand.
