A Ming blue and white ewer
16th century
with loop handle and tapering spout, painted with bands of trailing peony and lotus sprays within bands of ruyi motifs and stiff leaves, the spout with a four character inscription on a ground of flames -- 4½in. (11.5cms) high, (top of spout restored).
