A pair of Dutch decorated rectangular bottles
18th century
painted in famille rose enamels with panels of a deer and stag in a landscape of lingzhi and rockwork, beneath a bird perched on a blossoming prunus branch, alternating with panels of a bird on flowering branches, the necks with further birds amongst trailing blossoming and flowering branches, metal mounts to necks -- 8¼in. (21cms) high, (one with hairline crack to corner of foot, other with slight glaze crackling to lower corners).

During the eighteenth century shops opened in Amsterdam, such as that of Gerrit van der Kaade, where Chinese and Japanese porcelain was overdecorated. (2)
