ALBUM AMICORUM of Christoph Senfft of Salzburg, 1578 to 1590, inscriptions giving names, dates, mottoes, and occasionally encomia of the owner, 38 with blazoned arms (one unblazoned), the first leaf showing crowned arms against a landscape with hunting scenes (half erased), 4 leaves on vellum and 138 leaves on paper, 8vo, (one leaf detached), limp vellum (soiled).
Christoph Senfft is praised by one contributor as 'Nobilitate generis, stirpis antiquitate, Virtute & eruditione p[rae]stanti Adolescenti'; Senfft's own elegant arms, or and azure, are blazoned on f.2v. The majority of contributions are in Salzburg, though with a group of inscriptions at Tübingen, 1580-1581. Among the contributors are three - Georgius Gustavus, Johannes Augustus and Ludovicus Philippus - who describe themselves as Count Palatine; also a member of the von Stauffenberg family, a count zu Falckenstein and two counts of Wurtemburg and Mümpelgard (Montbeillard). The majority of mottoes are in Latin or German, with a few in French or Italian: the sentiments are mostly religious or amorous ('Amare amanti amare') with a few offering advice or reflections on the public duties of Senfft's circle: 'Ratio non fortuna negotium ducat'; 'Dulce bellum inexpertis'.
