The journal describes the experiences of two Yorkshire ladies in their journey to Paris and Brussels. The illustrations are notably quirky, and in addition to humorous depictions of local characters and costumes, include tableaus and caricatures of incidents and fellow travellers in their journey, together with a group showing fancy dress costumes at a ball in York.
