FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, the front free endpaper inscribed, "For Pamela Onslow, a souvenir of Combe Florey, from Evelyn Waugh." Also included in the lot is a 2-page autograph letter from Evelyn Waugh to Pamela Onslow discussing Christmas, travels to Mexico and Brazil, minor family illnesses and the publication of A Little Learning. "I did not send you A Little Learning because it is, in the first (& perhaps only) edition a mass of misprints & mistakes. If it is ever re-issued I will send you a copy." Since the present copy is a first edition, Pamela Onslow was clearly insistent on the matter.
