BIBLIA LATINA. Biblia Latina cum postillis Nicolai de Lyra et additionibus Pauli Burgensis, Nuremberg: Anton Koberger, [1487]. Part one only (of 4). 2° (305 x 220mm). 467 leaves (of 468, lacks the initial blank), 72 lines of commentary round text, and headline, double column, gothic letter, first initial (15 lines) in pink on a gold ground framed in various colours, other initials supplied in red and blue, capitals touched in red, several woodcuts, 4 full-page, and a few woodcut diagrams. (Light water staining in upper margins at the beginning, upper margins of the last 3 quires damp stained). 18th-century calf-backed boards preserving the original front endpapers. (Rubbed, head and foot of spine chipped). Provenance: presented in 1501/2 by Anna [surname indecipherable] to an unnamed religious institution in Straubing, in gratitude for hospitality (presentation inscription on a1v); Convent of the Friars Minor at Regensburg (late seventeenth century ownership inscription at head of a2r).
