(36.2cm.) wide; an aurora borealis tube, with centre electrode and brass knob handle -- 10¾in. (27.3cm.) long; an oak insulating stool, with scalloped edges and glass legs -- 18¼in. (26cm.) wide; a lacquered-brass air cannon, with an ivory screw for the priming hole and a stepped mahogany mount -- 7¼in. (18.4cm.) long; a spangled glazed pane, with mahogany frame and handle -- 17½in. (44.5cm.) wide; a Crooke's experiment tube, for demonstrating the effects of cathode rays, with interior target and external steel and rubber clamp, mounted on a turned and ebonised wooden base -- 9¼in.
