A large lacquered-brass sullivan's galvanometer,
NO 1,036 PATENTED W.W. SULLIVAN LTD LONDON with swinging cover to expose the top of the core and glazed window on the side to observe the coil, on a round bakelite base with three brass contacts, the centre one for the guard wire, two bubble levels and three adjustable screw feet -- 12in. (30.5cm.) high; together with a replacement core in a fitted and plush-lined pine box, instructions for replacement typed and attached to the inside of the lid; together with a PROFR EWING'S HYSTERESIS TESTER NO 77 ELLIOTT BROTHERS LONDON , the coil turned by means of a bakelite handle on a brass disc, the toothed edge of which turns the rubber wheel on the end of the axle supporting the coil, the magnet within which it turns mounted on a vertical brass arm terminating in a curved paper scale which is read by the index arm from the top of the magnet as it moves one way or the other, mounted on a marble base with two bakelite feet and one brass screw foot; and a similar instrument comprising a scale on glass raised on an iron column to which is clamped a cast-iron cylinder containing a light bulb, a tube from which the light emanates at right angles to the cylinder and with an adjustable brass tube with a 'V' in the aperture, all raised on a conical cast iron base
