A British 19th-Century mahogany domestic medicine chest,
the double doors fitted with galleries to contain nine bottles, all with stoppers and twelve with paper content labels, the central part divided into a gallery which houses five bottles, all with stoppers and four with paper content labels, the lower section divided into three drawers (bottom largest) which are divided into compartments containing an apothecary balance with plastic pans, weights, glass measures and containers and other items, the back compartment concealed by a sliding panel and containing a further five bottles, all with stoppers and three with content labels; with ivory knobs, brass carrying handle, escutcheon and key -- 12¾ x 14in. (32.3 x 35.5cm.)
