including: a Charles-Henri Fauvel (1830-1895) type laryngoscope of 1867, mirror with holder for the lamp, three mirrors with one wooden handle, a protective shield for the observer, contained in a fishskin covered, lined case -- 7in. (17.8cm.) long; a set of throat surgery instruments, consisting of a Hasslinger type tracheo-broncho-esophagoscope with two tracheo-bronchoscopes, one paediatric bronchoscope, three forcep tubes with handle, signed Leiter, Germany, a grasping tip with rat teeth and handle, signed K Storz-Hno D.R.G.M., a suction outfit with three aspirating tubes and four cotton carriers, contained in canvas wrap --23in. (58.4cm.) long; a Charles Michel type rhinoscope of 1873, trade mark on lid S.Maw & Son, London, contained in triangular leather covered case --11¾in. (29.8cm.) long; and seven specula (nasal and aural); a Whitehead type mouth gag, signed:Ulrich and a pair of tonsil punch forceps developed by Albert Ruault (1850-1928), by Ulrich, and six other instruments; and two other sets of otorhinolaryngological instruments contained canvas pouches; and seven tonsillotomes, one devised by Raoul Mathieu circa 1865, contained in wooden case --10¾in. (27.3cm.) long; another signed Luer a Paris, with ebony handle --9in. (23cm.) long; one by Charrière, circa 1845, with ebony handle -- 10 2/3in. (27cm.) long; and another by Spilman circa 1850, with ebony handle -- 11in. (30cm.) long; a W H Kelson (London) type tonsillotome circa 1890, signed Down Bros., London , with ebony handle --6in. (15.2cm.) long; a tonsillotome circa 1880, signed C. Walter --9½in. (24.2cm.) long; a modified tonsillotome by Aesculap, Germany circa 1930 -- 10¼in. (26cm.) long
