GLOBE TERRESTRE en relief de E. Schotte & Cie de Berlin
A fine and rare 15-inch (38.1cm.) diameter terrestrial table relief globe, the painted sphere laid with plaster relief and applied with labels for place names, wind arrows and other details, the equatorial and meridian of Paris graduated in degrees, the ecliptic not shown, the oceans painted in dark green, with dark blue to represent ocean currents, and with some wind arrow labels applied, the continents painted in shades of yellow, green and pink and showing mountains in relief, towns and cities (paint loss to highest points, some labels lacking, old repair to equator across Atlantic Ocean and Africa), with a stamped brass meridian half circle raised on an ebonised and baluster turned wooden column and circular plinth base -- 29½in. (75cm.) high
