A fine mid 19th-Century English lacquered-brass 4-inch refracting telescope,
signed W. & T. TULLEY, Islington, London., the 62¾in. (159.3cm.) long body tube threaded to separate at the middle, the objective lens with dust cap, star finder, rack and pinion and draw tube focusing, a rack and pinion adjusted side aperture, bubble level, eyepiece dust cover and six different eyepieces, further with a silver plaque To THOMAS WRIGHT HILL, ESQ. On retiring from his Arduous Duties as a Teacher of Youth THIS MEMORIAL is presented by many of his former Pupils in Testimony of Their Veneration for his Unaffected Simplicity of Character and Their High Respect for his Abilities as an Instructor and his Virtues as a Man 1835, in the original fitted mahogany case with key and two brass carrying handles -- 34in. (86.4cm.) wide, together with the original mahogany tripod with heavy brass alt-azimuth mounting, ivory-handled key and two adjustment rods (with replacement wooden handles)
