(16.5cm) long; two copper and steel travelling beam balances; an early 19th-Century lacquered brass travelling soveign balance by A. Wilkinson, with maker's instruction on the inside lid (missing holding pan) -- 5in. (12.7cm.) long when closed; a pocket pendulum letter balance --4¾in. (12cm.) long; a Sike's hydrometer set, with float, nine of ten weights and ivorine backed thermometer signed Farrow & Jackson, London & Paris, contained in a plush-lined wood case with ivorine maker's plaque inscribed Sike's Hydrometer Farrow & Jackson.
