A 19th-Century lacquered-brass binocular microscope,
signed on the foot J.B. Dancer Optician Manchester, with rack and pinion adjustment to the eypieces (defective) each engraved REGISTERED No 4380 and JUNE 27th 1861, with rack and pinion focusing to the body tubes, mechanical stage and plano-concave substage mirror, the body limb tilting on an axis supported by two tapering turned pillars to a concave triform base with semicircular section attached to the two front feet -- 17¼in. (43.9cm.) high
