A late 19th-Century lacquered-brass compound binocular microscope,
signed on the foot R.W. WRIGHT 50 MORTIMER ST London W, with draw tube adjustment for the eyepieces, the body tubes with rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, nicol prism, double nosepiece, mechanical stage with substage condensor and plano-concave mirror on a V-shaped foot fixed to a mahogany base, with two eyepeices marked B, one unmarked, bull's-eye condensor stand (lens lacking), tweezers and Wright ¼in., 1in. and 2in. objectives in canisters, and another unmarked, in the original fitted mahogany carrying case with key -- 16¾in. (42.5cm.) high
