A Meissen teabowl and saucer
Circa 1725, puce crossed sword marks, Dreher's , to footrim of saucer
Painted in schwarzlot, one side of the teabowl with figures, barrels, sacks and a bridge in a river-landscape within a quatrefoil gilt line cartouche with Böttger-lustre panels edged with schwarzlot scrolls, the other side with a bird in flight above shrubs issuing from rockwork, the interior with a spray of indianische Blumen beneath a gilt Laub-und Bandelwerk border, the saucer with figures on the banks of an estuary within a similar cartouche and gilt border, the underside painted with three sprays of indianische Blumen (teabowl with slight wear to gilt rim and border, saucer with some flaking to enamel of trees, some slight wear to gilt cartouche and minute wear to gilt rim)
