A Meissen conical blue-ground Chinoiserie beaker
Circa 1728, blue enamel crossed swords mark, wheel-engraved black enamel Japanese Palace N=325_ w inventory mark, impressed Dreher's cross mark for Kittel to footrim
Each side painted by J.G. Höroldt with Orientals on terraces with flowering shrubs, an exotic bird and insects in flight above, one Oriental holding a cloth and kneeling before a dish by a steaming kettle on a stand, the other standing behind an elaborate plinth holding a fan and a gong, within ogival quatrefoil gilt band cartouches against a mottled blue ground below a gilt line rim (wear to gilt rim, some mis-firing to ground colour and slight pitting to interior)
