A Dutch red stoneware teapot and cover with silver-gilt mounts and chain
Circa 1720, perhaps Ary de Milde
Of cylindrical form with short spout and loop handle, each side moulded in relief with an Oriental style trailing flowering plant, the low cover moulded with a shell, a snail and a flower, the silver-gilt mount to the handle chased with scrolls and surmounted with an animal finial, the finial mount formed as a bust of a lady (large chip to underside flange of cover, crack to cover)
