Circa 1785, gilt interlaced LSX monogram
The ewer with richly gilt foliage-moulded spout and scroll handle painted with a family seated beneath a tree in an extensive wooded river landscape with a shepherd with a goat and sheep, the basin with foliage-moulded handles and painted with lovers and companions in a wooded rocky landscape within black band borders with gilt-edged circular paterae, the lower part of the ewer and the centre of the basin with radiating stiff leaves on a gilt dot ground, the cover with gilt fruit finial (the ewer and cover extensively damaged and repaired, the rim of the basin broken in two places near one handle and repaired)
The ewer 10 in. (25.5 cm.) high, the basin 15 in. (38 cm.) wide
