Circa 1810
The centre painted with a naked couple, he holding a shield with armour at his feet and she holding a white cloth to her thighs, on a dark-brown ground within a broad gilt circular cartouche, the border gilt with young male heads, sun-masks, scrolls and anthemion between gilt bands (slight scratch to central panel)
