the arched white-enamelled dial with Roman chapter ring and blued-steel hands, signed JOHN WRENTCH/LONDON beneath a SILENT/STRIKE laurel wreath dial with blued-steel hand, the five knopped pillar twin-fusee movement with anchor escapement striking the half-hour on a bell, the backplate with engraved border, the arched case with glazed front and back doors and pierced grill sounding boards to the sides, the caddy top with brass handle, on a molded base with brass ogee-bracket feet
