Lot Essay

Emanuel Matthias Diemar (1720-1795), artist, wax modeller and gunmaker, the son of a Berlin gunstock maker, is the maker of a very fine pair of holster pistols in the Louis XV style in Windsor Castle (inv. nos. 437/8), as well as air guns with both London and Berlin signatures
