A Rare 38-Bore Four-Barrel Smooth Oval-Bore Percussion Sporting Rifle

With signed twist barrels sighted to 300 yards and inscribed 'Patent. Smooth. Bored. Rifle', matted ribs, scroll engraved patent breeches each with platinum plug, long scroll engraved tang (barrel release catch incomplete), signed rounded scroll engraved serial numbered detented back-action locks, figured walnut butt, chequered grip, raised cheek-piece, iron mounts finely engraved with scrollwork, chequered butt-plate with a deer hound on the tang, serial numbered trigger-guard retaining some original blued finish and engraved on the bow with two stags locked in a duel, silver escutcheon, and traces of original browned and case-hardened finish, London proof marks
