Rifle', matted ribs, scroll engraved patent breeches each with platinum plug, long scroll engraved tang (barrel release catch incomplete), signed rounded scroll engraved serial numbered detented back-action locks, figured walnut butt, chequered grip, raised cheek-piece, iron mounts finely engraved with scrollwork, chequered butt-plate with a deer hound on the tang, serial numbered trigger-guard retaining some original blued finish and engraved on the bow with two stags locked in a duel, silver escutcheon, and traces of original browned and case-hardened finish, London proof marks
