With belled two-stage brass barrel, the breech section octagonal then polygonal, engraved at the rear with strawberry foliage and a monster-head, and with raised ramp, plain iron tang, signed border engraved rounded lock decorated with foliage and a bird (engraving worn), moulded artificially figured maple full stock (chipped and repaired, old worm-holes) with raised apron at the barrel tang, brass mounts, butt-plate with long moulded tang, pierced serpentine side-plate, trigger-guard with foliate finials (tang-screw replaced), plain escutcheon, single baluster ramrod-pipe, and later brass-tipped ramrod (iron parts with minor surface pitting), London proof marks
