Part one only. Tall 8° (195 x 75mm). Double-page letterpress title and double-page index of maps in French and Dutch, 34 hand-coloured engraved maps, all folding by Keizer after de L'Isle. (A few small tears at folds). Contemporary half sheep, rubbed, later red morocco shipcase. Provenance: 18th century library stamp on title; Robert Melville (late 18th century ownership signature on front free endpaper).
A rare pocket travelling atlas issued in Holland for the Dutch and French markets; including several maps of the world, the continents and Europe, based on de L'Isle's work. De Lat was one of the few booksellers outside Amsterdam who published maps and atlases, working at Deventer 1734-1750, and using as his engraver Jacob Keyzer of Almelo. Cf.Koeman Lat 7.
