Château Pétrus--Vintage 1928
Pomerol, cru exceptionnel. Château-bottled
Very good appearance. Slightly bin-soiled and very slightly damaged label. Level base of neck
Tasting note: The first and longest tasting of the great twin vintages, '28 and '29 Pétrus. Extemely rare. When first tasted in the mid 1980's it was so rich that it reminded me of a late-harvest zinfandel from California. Most recently: virtually opaque, its appearance very concentrated; equally concentrated on the nose and palate, immensely rich and ripe, still sweet and still '28 tannin. M.B (2002).
