1824, the reverse with gilt script Napoli 1824.
The centre painted with a bust-length portrait of Francesco I before grey clouds, the background signed Giovine 1824 in black to his left, his dark-blue military uniform with a red collar, a blue sash edged in red and badges of various Orders including the Constantinian Order of Saint George and the Golden Fleece, within a gilt ribbon-tied wreath of laurel cartouche, the matt blue-ground border reserved with gilt flowering garlands divided by three ciselé trophies emblematic of the Arts, War and Love within rectangular gilt panels with canted corners, gilt band rim and footrim (some slight wear and scratching to centre, flaking to enamel of his right shoulder and his neck below left ear, border with slight wear and blemishes to blue ground)

Francesco I of Bourbon-Naples (1777-1830), was King of the Two Sicilies from 1825 to 1830. He married Marie Klementine of Austria (daughter of King Leopold II of Hungary and Marie Louise of Spain), in Foggia on 25th June 1797. He then married Maria Isabella of Spain (daughter of King Carlos IV of Spain and Maria Luisa of Parma), in Naples on the 6th of October 1802. Giovine was Francesco I's court enamellist and porcelain painter.
