A Meissen part tea and coffee-service
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords marks, incised N to footrim of coffee-pot, Pressnummer 53 to sugar-bowl, 68 to cup and 63 to saucer
Painted with groups of fruit, scattered fruit, butterflies and insects, beneath ozier-moulded borders and gilt-line rims, with gilt-enriched foliage-moulded spouts and handles, comprising: a bullet-shaped teapot and a cover (cover repaired); a baluster coffee-pot and cover (minute chip to spout and finial); a baluster hot-milk-jug and a cover (cracks and chip to spout, chipping to footrim and finial of cover); a circular sugar sugar-bowl and cover (small chip to rim); an arched rectangular tea-caddy and cover (finial re-stuck and chipped); a quatrefoil spoon-tray (slight wear); and a coffee-cup and saucer with green branch handle (chip to footrim of cup, minor wear to saucer) (7)
