A Meissen figure of Harlequin playing the bagpipes
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, in a pale-yellow lined pink plumed hat, his waistcoat partly decorated with chequered lozenges and partly with playing cards, his sleeves alternating with pale-pink and puce scale ornament, his pale-pink breeches with yellow rosettes, his pale-yellow shoes with purple rosettes, seated on rockwork and playing the bagpipes, the base applied with flowers and foliage (some restoration to instrument, finger of right hand, rosette on left knee and plume, minor chipping to flowers and foliage)
