Two Meissen figures of harpies
Circa 1750
Each with the head and breasts of a woman and the wings of a bird, the first with legs formed as entwined serpents, modelled recumbent, clasping the head and body of a serpent with her talons, the second with the body and legs of a lion, modelled recumbent with her front paw resting on a shell, both on shaped rectangular bases applied with flowers and foliage (the first with restoration to legs, talons, the head and upper body of serpent, small chip to her nose and slight chipping to flowers and leaves of base, the second with small area of restoration to tail and slight chipping to flowers and leaves of base)
