Two Meissen figures of Cupid in Disguise
Circa 1750, the second with blue crossed swords mark to back of base
The first modelled as Scapin from the Commedia dell'Arte, in a black hat, a white jacket with black belt, yellow cape and orange breeches, the second as a messenger, wearing black hat, green short-sleeved jacket with yellow collar, and iron-red breeches, with a yellow sash tied around his waist and a satchel over his shoulder, holding a sealed billet doux in his outstretched left hand and a cane in his right hand, both standing before tree-stumps on shaped oval bases applied with leaves (the first with some overpainting, restoration and minor chipping, the second with some restoration and minor damages)
