Château Hosanna--Vintage 1999 Pomerol. J.P. Moueix. Château-bottled After his purchase of Ch Certan-Giraud, Christian Moueix sold on the less well-situated parts of the vineyard keeping only those sections which adjoin some of the greatest Pomerols, (Ch Lafleur, Ch Certan de May) on the clay-rich plateau, for Château Hosanna. Unusually, the property has a high proportion (30 of old Cabernet Franc vines, the balance being Merlot. The 1999 vintage was the first made by the Jean-Pierre Moueix team. Today, the wine is rich purple in colour, with ripe, red fruit aromas, raspberry predominating. The palate is broad and mouth-filling, with a finish of great delicacy. Well-balanced tannins and fine length are heralds of the wine's long life, of which we may be confident. A.H. In original wooden cases
