The case surmounted by a figure of Cupid atop a nimbus, presenting a garland to a supplicant maiden, a banner by him cast in low relief with the inscription QUI QUE TU SOIS' JE SUIS TON MAITRE, the moulded and stepped breakfront base with beaded gallery and floral mounts, on toupie feet, the white enamel Arabic dial with pierced gilt-metal hands, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell; mounts re-gilt -- 17in. (43cm.) high
