The 4in. silvered and engraved dial signed D.McGregor & Co Ltd, GLASGOW, GREENOCK, Liverpool No. K/8088 MAKERS TO THE ADMIRALTY, Roman chapters, subsidiary dials for seconds and up/down (0-56), gold spade hands, the movement with spotted plates, reversed chain fusee, Earnshaw escapement with jewelled locking stone, cut bimetallic balance with circular compensation weights, steel helical spring, brass gimbal and bowl with spring-loaded wind aperture cover to the base, the front plate and inside of bowl numbered 6985, the brass-bound box with drop handles to the sides and signed D. McGREGOR & Co. MAKERS TO THE ADMIRALTY GLASGOW & GREENOCK 4564, the box 7in. square; box re-conditioned, top lid probably replaced
