An English brass striking lantern clock, basically late 17th century
The dial with narrow Roman chapter ring and later back painted hand, the centre engraved with flower heads and foliage, the alarm disc now vestigial, the movement with verge escapement and countwheel strike on a bell above within pierced gallery frets, detatchable brass side doors, alarm train now lacking - 15in. (38cm.) high
