An English mahogany longcase clock
The breakarch hood with glazed side panels and brass-capped fluted columns, with moulded frame to a breakarch trunk door and moulded panel to the plinth raised on bracket feet, the 12½in. cut-away brass dial with cherub mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered Roman and Araboc chapter ring, with fleur-de-lys half hour markers and signed J. Watson Blackburn, matted centre with engraving around the date aperture, pierced and blued steel hands, the arch with vacant silvered convex disc, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; associated, case last quarter 18th century, dial and movement first quarter 19th century -- 90¾in. (231cm.) high
