'FILE COPY' SCRIPT
1937
A two-hundred and thirty-one page script with a light-blue cover having an MGM logo, a File Copy stamp, a 2637 stamp and a date of November 27, 1937 while Sidney Howard is noted as the sole screenwriter. This very early version is quite different from the final one as the script famously had to be edited down to an appropriate feature-length time. For example, the ending in this version has Scarlett falling back against (Mammy) for support after Rhett leaves, and her famous ending speech of After all, tomorrow is another day! is addressed to Mammy instead of the camera. Many other scenes that were later changed are noted throughout.
11x9x1 inches
Please note the front cover has come unattached but is still included.
