FRANCES ELINOR DIECKO HANDMADE 'SCARLETT' DOLL
Circa 1939
A small, handmade doll depicting Scarlett likely created when the film was released. With a cloth body and papier-mache arms, this doll has a wonderfully-detailed hand-stitched face and curly, reddish-brown yarn hair while she wears her vintage clothing including a cotton dress with a green floral print (the Twelve Oaks Barbeque dress) and beige cotton lace-trimmed pantalettes. Other noteworthy details on this piece are its tiny, black ballet slippers, a necklace made of gold-colored thread and green velvet hair bows. A cloth tag sewn on the inside dress lining has a handwritten notation in red ink reading "Scarlett O'Hara" Frances Elinor Diecko. Altogether, this is a delicately crafted doll which actually resembles Vivien Leigh as Scarlett.
Height: 12 inches
