MARGARET MITCHELL SIGNED FIRST EDITION AND HANDWRITTEN NOTE

A hardcover edition with the May 1936 date printed on the copyright page and the dustjacket listing GWTW in the second column with Margaret Mitchell's black fountain-pen ink signature on the flyleaf as well as a pencilled ownership signature reading Mrs. Alex Smith Jr. Tuxedo Rd, Atlanta, Ga. (the wife of a prominent Atlanta lawyer and personal friend of MM). Also included is a tiny notecard printed with Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Marsh on the front and MM's black fountain-pen ink inscription on the inside reading Honoring Mrs. Angus Perkerson at the Atlanta Athletic Club August 17th 4706 [sic] R.S.V.P. together with the original transmittal envelope addressed in MM's hand with an Atlanta postmark dated Aug 3 1939 1:30 PM.
