The hull of the model is built up from the solid with white painted topsides, a copper bottom, a red waterline and a copper cove stripe with the Hinckley Talaria at the bow and stern. The decks of the model are painted a pale green, and is fitted with a cabin top with mahogany brown sides. The model is fitted with many details, including: chocks, cleats, anchor, ventilator, hatch, winches, coils of line, turning blocks, flagstaff, rudder, etc. The stern of the model has the name painted on the transom with the home port of Cleveland. The model is displayed on a shipyard cradle in a mahogany framed glass case.

Lot Essay

This model was built for Dr. E.W. Shannon of Cleveland, OH and includes letters from the modelmaker to the owner concerning the construction. Also included with this lot is a photograph of the DIASTOLE by M. Rosenfeld.
