the dial probably associated and signed Jlien Le Roy/A Paris, the obelisk with inscription A LA/GLOIRE/DU/MARECHAL/DE/SAXE/1745, one figure lacking attribute, feet repositioned and rethreaded

A clock of this same modle, of ormolu and red marble, by fondeur François Vion, is illustrated Pierre Kjellberg, Encyclopédie de la Pendule Français du Moyen Age au XXe Siècle, Paris, 1997, p.242, pl. A. A similar modle, lacking figures to sides, signed Vion was sold Ader Picard Tajan, 11 November 1984, lot 87.
