Synonymous with a particular era of British sports car production, Austin-Healeys are firm favorites among the classic car fraternity. This example was exported from the factory to the US in July 1961 and was initially finished in red over black. Equipment fitted then included wire wheels, overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen and Road Speed tires, all confirmed by the BMIHT certificate offered with the car.

This Healey has recently had a comprehensive and magnificent restoration to its current condition. Prior to restoration this was a complete, sound and accident-free example thus it was an ideal candidate for rejuvenation. The chassis was stripped to bare metal before being primed, sealed and then repainted with three coats of Urethane paint. The bodywork was equally well prepared before being treated with a two-stage base-coat, clearcoat, and then DuPont Chromasystem paintwork. The majority of the chrome items have either been replated or replaced with new repro parts as necessary. The interior trim has correct leather faced front seats, new carpets, panel kit, dashboard wood, dash top and a new Everflex top. The car stands on brand new chrome/stainless 60 spoke wheels fitted with Michelin radial tires harnessed by two-eared knock-offs.

The engine has also been totally rebuilt. This included fitting a new ignition system and new hoses, cables, seals and gaskets. The carburetors have been rebuilt and the differential was inspected. The gearbox and overdrive unit were also rebuilt. A new fuel system has been fitted with ancillary parts and the braking system has all been rebuilt. Further work included a new wiring system including harness, rebuilt shock absorbers and even correct decals. In all, this is a complete and thorough restoration carried out to concours standards. Aside from a color change to black, all the work was correctly finished to factory standards (or better in our opinion) and the Healey is offered with all photographs and bills from the restoration, sidescreens in a new bag, reprinted Owner's manual and knock-off hammer. We are delighted to recommend close inspection of this triple carburetor model.
