A CHINESE TWELVE-LEAF POLYCHROME COROMANDEL LACQUER SCREEN
Kangxi, late 17th early 18th Century
Decorated with scenes of Chinese courtiers in a Palace complex, the central panels depicting a seated senior official in his pavilion with two dancing ladies before him, with courtyard filled with courtiers surrounded by further pavilions, the borders with patterned panels filled with lozenges of stylised dragons, some losses to the lacquer
Each panel: 100½ in. (255 cm.) high; 21¼ in. (54.5 cm.) wide
