The stool with its Grecian-black frame relates to a 'Window seat' pattern with Grecian-scrolled frame and flowered volutes that was executed in the early 19th century by Messrs Morgan and Sanders of Trafalgar House, Catherine Street (R.Ackermann, The Repository of Arts, 1809, illustrated in P. Agius, Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, London, 1984, p. 39).
