A Charles X bronze and ormolu striking mantle clock, circa 1825
Surmounted by the figure of a classically draped maiden kneeling on a foliate base, the corners of the rectangular case with stylised anthemia rising to volutes, above a stiff leaf ogee gallery, the base on scrolling feet, the Roman dial with snake hands, the twin barrel movement stamped MIDAILLE D'OR PARIS 1827, with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell -- 22½in. (57.2cm.) high
