Details
Château Latour--Vintage 1970
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Levels: eight bottom neck or better, two very top and two upper shoulder
Tasted 03/02 Clean ruby/red color, orange hints on rim, very pure.
Intense aromas of brambles, dark berries & chewy prunes; opens out
wonderfully with time. A really fantastic wine fully deserving of its reputation & price, infact a relative steal in today's marketplace. Very slightly dry, the abundant tannins yield superbly to the lush layers of fruit; packed with earthy, yet ripe currants. Great balance, a wine that has it all. A knockout Latour, wow! DW
