Very deeply coloured, with opulent, vanilla and toasty oak aromas. This is a powerful, glycerol-rich wine, which I last tasted in November 1998. I found it closed-up yet very promising, with its tannins still conspicuous. One should resist the temptation to drink this for at least 5 years, I believe. A.H.
